Rough and tumble to the core, TOTAL OVERDOSE: A GUNSLINGER`S TALE IN MEXICO for XBOX by Eidos Interactive is all about the guns, shooting, and action. The storyline is based around the character Ramiro Cruz and is reminiscent of any number of action films that is, it is all about the action and not so much about the story. However, the basic story follows Cruz replacing his brother as an undercover DEA agent in Mexico, trying to get in the grade graces of the Mexican drug lords. Things get complicated when the DEA agents go bad, and Cruz begins to learn more about the death of his father. But since the story takes backstage to the action, what is most important in this game is the moves and the weapons. Cruz can pull off a number of special moves such as bullet dodging and performing almost acrobatic/karate type moves while taking down the bad guys. The weapons include automatic guns, pistols, assault rifles, rockets, and grenades. The game includes both main missions and extra bonus missions that players can complete. Also, players can jump in cars to go places, though this aspect is not a requirement to fulfill missions.
